Memory Lane

Reminiscing

A drive bringing back memories

Took a trip down memory lane

look back on what I used to

have and for a split second

I’m wrapped up in the past

Feeling as if it were yesterday

Funny enough those bonds

were from years ago

Before we even thought the world

could make us take different routes

Or how death does come around unexpectedly

and picks us up off our feet

Careless with our time but we

were bound to make the most of this life

Even if it was just for laughs

To have known the struggle

gave me you as a gift in the end

Led me to think it was worth it

Cherishing of what used to be

Now all I have is you as a memory.
