Melting Snow

Take it personally.

The night is cold

The trees frozen in the frigid air

I look upon nothing but white snow on a green platform.

I stare into the open only to see

a boy climbing up the house

up to this room where a young girl waits

anxiously for her forbidden lover.

He slips in quieter than that of a calm winter’s breath.

I see him crawl under and into the dark room

The weight of his presence is thin,

As to not strike ears.

He carefully treads through the maze

of creaks encompassing the floor.

He prowls upon the woolen sheets

She takes his hands and pulls him closer,

kissing him with her pure cherry lips.

Time had not the faintest inkling.

The new day rose about the blank hills,

Tainting the sky with its pallet of colors

The large spectacle of golden light shining in

their uninterrupted passion gone with

the faint click of the light.

He realized it was time for his departure

And with one last kiss, he climbed down

And ran into the sunlight.
