Meeting SFX

It's a good thawing kind of pain,

His smile makes my heart drop.

And his scent leaves me reminiscing.

His touch is gentle.

I've never wanted something so meaningful with someone in my life before.

Have you ever given your all to be completely stripped naked in front of a crowd that thought they knew you?

Have you ever had night terrors; so vivid, you jolt in agony as you awaken?

Have you ever had such bad anxiety over a terrible memory that you would wake up in misery and puke at 3 AM?

Have you ever slept or laid wide awake beside a person that you let physically, mentally, and verbally harm you?

Have you ever been raped?

Have you ever woken up and not remembered what happened to you the night before, to go home and cry hysterically for hours?

Have you ever told someone you loved them just to discover, they were sleeping with your friend?

Have you ever lost all of your pride over a rumor that was a lie?

Have you ever seen your dad arrested?

Have you ever held a girl's hair you do not know at a party well she drunkenly pukes and cries?

Did you ever try to run away from home, around the age of five?

Did you scream at your dad when he would drunk drive?

Did you ever lie to you mom when she would ask you "where were you last night?"

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to have had different parents of a different life?

Do you ever want to tell him things, but you're afraid, so you just bottle all inside of your mind?

The thing is, my thoughts are never-ending and it is my heart he has truly been mending,

and deep inside he is my personal proof that not all people are dark or destructive.

Not all people want to use you and lie.

Not every person in this world is hopeless.

He is selfless and loving, thoughtful and smart.

He cares endlessly and provides my life with a light when my entire soul starts to feel dark.

Maybe he really is my own personal spark.
