Maybe he doesn't hit you,
But he still yells at you for feeling sad.
For "acting crazy" because he hurt you verbally.
Maybe he doesn't hit you,
But you're afraid to tell your friends what he said
Because they'll ask why you haven't left him.
Maybe he doesn't hit you,
But he leaves you at night feeling guilty,
Like his actions are your fault.
Maybe he doesn't hit you,
But you still have to fake a smile
To fight back the tears.
Maybe he doesn't hit you,
But every time you look in the mirror,
You tell yourself it won't happen again.
Maybe he doesn't hit you,
But you should leave.
Because you deserve a man.
