Materialistic

A Poem

Since when were wishes so materialistic, our ideal picture of happiness no longer "me," now it's "my?" We've upgraded the concept of happy you see:

Square rooted desires, we lost higher purpose, now it's feeling fulfilled by a full wardrobe. Clothed in self-deception. These threads were never me, so why are they all that I am?

Nice cars going nowhere, big houses filled with nothing of significance.

So possessed by our possessions, what happened to us?

I believe they're just trying to live "the life," not a life, as not their life is good enough anymore, yes somehow they internalized this obscure idea that yes, not their life is good enough anymore.
