Art by Michelangelo
I sat back & watched you
As every door you’ve viciously prised open
slams back on your finger tips
I watch you sink to your heels every time
a tiger wavering in its pounce
Then fling yourself at it again
And again
And again
Until your ego is bruised more than your knuckles
I imagine you’re used to it by now
as a ‘female’
The duty to be multifaceted & simplified all at once
To kick back and deny those open doors
Though,
there is nothing I admire more
than a woman with bloody hands
