Mannequin

Don't let people tell you how to live your life.

I'm always being told "Grow up, act Mature."

"Talk like this, move like me, look like her."

In this life I'm condemned

You expect me to pretend

I'm a mannequin

You move my thoughts where they want them

Paint a smile on my face

nothing but frills and lace

Make me feel like I'm easy to replace

You say you want me happy, protected

But all I ever feel is rejected

I'm not a material you can mold to perfection

I think your methods could use some reflection

You underestimate how much I can withstand

If you're not careful

I won't be there to hold your hand
