How Time Can Change Your Soul

I heard that not so long ago

When time was naught but fun

Those moments came in glorious seconds.

Until the going down of the sun.

That in those moments flickered by

Stood a glowing pampered soul

Whose life and time was greatly seen

As happiness was his goal.

The times that slept with sorrow

Was shadowed by those of joy

When thoughts of only tomorrow

Did not worry this little boy.

But not that so long ago

Has surely come to end

As wrinkles set and hairs did grey

We saw changes in our friend.

Happiness became a memory

That took a path down a friendly lane

Replaced by stress and angry gripes

Life replaced by pain.

Oh, times of joy where art though now?

Oh, when smiles were all the way.

Oh, when troubles were distant thoughts to come

Oh, when you were pleased to rise every day.

We spent those times wanting to grow

To times now when we wish them back.

The only things that I now know

Time has turned him to a maniac.
