Man Alive

What am I?

A frayed knot

I’m afraid not

A mad dog may be more fitting

Then perhaps that’s not hitting

The nail on the head

The truth may well be dead

My mind screams, the blood pours

Don’t we all have our flaws

Am I alone

The holes in my heart aren’t properly sewn

They weep and so do I

But man isn’t meant to cry

Then what is man meant to do

I’m afraid I can’t tell you

But I can fight

I think I might

I’ll put you to the test

If only for some rest.
