The Magazine presents serene faces that scream of success
Posed actress who has crafted beauty out of the mess we are born into
Eyes can't see through the disguise so untrue to how internal battles rage through.
Perhaps I'm off, and a moment of perfected poses creates lasting peace.
One supposes they do, for this image captures sweet release.
But a decrease in culture's general confidence
for I sense a pushing of ideals
Tight hips and slimming meals prepared for those in high heals
I assumed by this century more pressing matters would frame our focus
But I guess preservation's a hocus pocus alchemy we cling to
For we cling to what we bring to life at our best moment
But don't realize that's one component on our way to perfection
How sad we ache for direction
But don't take the time for proper inspection of our heart's compass
And as our seconds pass
We wonder why we don't appreciate the simplicity of the grass
