Ma, Pa and Me...
I remember walking down the street, Swinging holding your hands.
Getting lost in your shadows, Staring in wonder as my life began…
I never felt more loved, I never wanted for anymore.
Yet I felt a fire in my heart, for what reason I wasn't sure…
"Hey Karrie get the curtains.
Hey boy come lay with me"…
It’s half past five on a Saturday.
It’s just us on that old settee…
Innocent memories last forever.
Although forever was not to be…
In my mind through the never…
Ma, Pa And Me…
As I grew so did the fire...
And I began to understand…
Volcanoes of sin and frustration...
Were clenched within their hands.
So much was said in the silence...
And it was said so very clear.
I watched my empire crumble.
And my world disappeared…
"Hey Karrie get the curtains.
Hey boy come lay with me"…
It’s half past five on a Saturday.
It’s just us on that old settee…
Innocent memories last forever.
Although forever was not to be…
In my mind through the never…
Ma, Pa And Me…
Look at us today…
These separate lives we are living.
No one speaks a word…
Everybody’s so tired of giving.
Me...
I relive the past when I yearn for that love.
Remind myself I am the life...
Of a love now dead.
"Hey Karrie get the curtains.
Hey boy come lay with me"…
It’s half past five on a Saturday.
It’s just us on that old settee…
Innocent memories last forever.
Although forever was not to be…
In my mind through the never…
Ma, Pa And Me…

Steven Baldry
I have been writing Poetry since I was a teenager. Now in my late thirties I enjoy it more than ever. I find it a wonderful release and it helps me to free my mind and understand myself and my emotions.
