Loving Alone

Being attracted to broken people

Isn't romantic, it's more so lethal

You find them in their rebuilding stage

And it turns you on to give them strength

You're always on a different page

Their's on fixing themselves

Yours on loving no one else

You want them to crave more than your body

But you know they need time

To discover themselves and not be so gaudy

Past people have messed with them for too long

Right now they just need your help

To overcome what went so wrong

To focus on the present not the prolonged

To love themselves, not whom they could belong

Still, you can't help but keep that hope

That one day they'll realize they need you the most

That you've been there when no one could

That you let them use you for their own good

For that reason you know you have your own problems

But you're too selfless to worry about solving them

You rather gain a companion and be their saving grace

Than worry about your own pathetic place

You can't help but wonder what it's like to have this reciprocated

Will you ever be captivated by your own emotions not being the only glue?

Or will you always be the more broken one because they'll never truly love you
