Perry, J. (2013) Jackson Square, Late Evening

They danced together, swirling between the sparse crowd, nothing on their minds but that moment entirely. Their feet tapped quietly on the cobbled square, while others around them giggled and tried to get the perfect step to the live string trio. The late evening breeze carried the soft noise throughout the square, soothing the sleepy town into slumber. The couple whispered tenderly to each other, one definitely holding the others weight, although unfazed, chuckling under their breath at whatever they were murmuring about. They were astronauts sharing the same helmet, unaware of the infinite space spiraling around them. Or perhaps they were stars. Wholly aware of the idols they were, of the light, they bounced around their little galaxy, but choosing ignorance and defiance; anything to reach out and burn together. And that is exactly what they did. Vanishing with the sunset, with fire at their toes and sparks bolting from their tongues.
