Love Only Half

The Other Version

You say you know me but you do not see.

A secret that's hidden deep within me.

I put on a smile with each passing day.

Tolerating what bad people say.

I am actually afraid of letting this build.

Of what can happen when to the top is filled.

Lied to. Cheated on. Always left broken.

No-one hearing my words left unspoken.

What meaning would they hold, what weight would they carry.

There is no fear behind my smile so merry.

Deep within I feel it awaken.

Tired of all the wrong I have taken.

To the next one that says to me true.

I have one piece of advice for you.

Don't push me more, I don't think I can fight.

This thing that pushes every night.

As long as I'm happy the demon will sleep.

But if I am hurt it will surely creep.

Just know I am two no matter what is seen.

I just want to wash it until I am clean.

So while you hold me close and make me laugh.

Just know you'd be a fool to Love Only Half.
