You could be black or white,

Gay or straight,

Muslim or Christian,

You're still a human,

And damn the differences you are still my friend.

You would like waffles instead of pancakes,

You would like the movie better than the book,

You would like coffee better than tea,

But none of that matters-

I would still love you.

I don't have to know you,

You don't have to know me,

We're all just trying to find ourselves-

We're all just trying to get through this life.

Yet we still manage...

To hate,

To hurt,

To kill...

Why can't we love?
