Love

Pulling at the Heartstrings

How I long to hate you.

You bring me pain, confusion, and lunacy.

You are highly overrated.

I just want to be liberated;

Leaving me to feel jaded.

How I long to capture you.

You bring me joy, rapture, and inner peace.

You are highly coveted.

I just want to be captivated;

Leaving me to feel upgraded.

You are both a curse and miracle.

I just want to be satirical;

Exposing you in every verse.

How I long for your embrace.

But you only leave me in a never-ending goose chase.

The table’s turned.

Try not to get burned.

My heart is the flame that keeps the candle lit.

You know you hate to admit,

This battle is fun, cupid keeps shooting those arrows.

With a never-ending supply,

He will eventually succeed in piercing your heart, with the love that you have always wanted.

"Escape" will be a word no longer in use in your vocabulary.

You just want to feel it, running through every capillary.

Love.
