Lost Vows

To You

My crimson and my gold,

I see you in my eyes.

I see you etched into my skin.

All I ever knew was love like yours

A glimmer of hope laced with loss.

From a lover I would have never expected

To replenish my world and give me new eyes.

Into a future for myself that I could have never imagined.

I beat chloroform to your words.

Imagining you holding me before I rest,

Falling into an intoxicating trance.

Your touch leaves me frozen.

You committed arson in my mind.

An ever growing blaze that I’ll never extinguish.

Soft spoken cries that come to an ease

As you entice my mind like methamphetamine.

Addicted to my loss,

I can’t see anything without you.

As you loaned me your eyes

You fixed the gashes in my skin.

Let’s raffle for another lane,

Another beginning and another end.
