Brokenhearted girl has lost her way
she never wanted him to leave
but never asked him to stay
She drowns out the pain with music and gin
She prays for help rather than forgiveness for sin
She's far too distressed to ever repent
She dreams of a blade and smiles at the thought of death
She knows no escape from a world without he
She can't turn back time, it's plain to see
That she should let go, for her sake and his
That he may not suffer from the pity he feels
He wants her to have what she wants, he wants her to heal
But he can't be so selfless as to sacrifice his needs
So that a weaker soul may continue to feed
It's a sad sight to see, two broken for different reasons
We only hope that they will heal with the passing of the seasons
But even then, what's to be made of the broken hearted girl?
Or the man who suffers for a gift he cannot wield
Who wants to give the world but who's heart is not on board
The girl who only wants his love, and for it would plunge a sword
Deep into her chest, just to show her love for he
Oh broken hearted girl, I want to set you free
From the emotional shackles you've been locked in for years
I wish I could make it all just disappear
But alas, I cannot
Just as sadly as he
Three lost souls, none filled with glee
As I slowly watch, and every night I pray
That we may all be set free
he, I, and the girl who lost her way
