Lost

Can you see me?

I'm trapped within these dark four walls

They surround me closely, closing in on me.

Thin air is all I have to breathe.

I'm scared.

I can't find safety here,

For I am not alone

Monsters in my house,

Monsters in the dark,

Monsters in my heart.

They, alone, are my company

They chase me, they laugh at me

I have no escape.

She says I'm free now

Says he can't hurt me

But he still haunts me in my sleep.

My insides are spoiled

The colour of swarming bees

There is no colour.

Darkness surrounds me.

At night, I cry for light

All day I search for sunshine

I'm alone.

Even the birds fly away from me

They have seen the bees

They know they will get stung

Can't you see I'm broken?

Will no one scare the monsters away?

Don't let them swallow me up

I lay here motionless wondering,

Can anybody see me?

Will I ever be free
