Loss of Self

Loss

Lost, yet knowing where you are

Alone, yet surrounded by loved ones near and far

Confused, only knowing you do not belong here

Uninspired, directionless, existing just to exist;

Big city or small town

Does not matter you're still exhausted and weighed down;

By your own false truths

Bombarded by thoughts and feelings too vast to comprehend

When the numbness sets in

And the quieting begins

All you feel is agony in your soul

As the pain grows and grows

You lose all control

Of who you were,

Who you were meant to be,

And everything in between

The slow death of your very soul

Makes everything you are feel like a sin

You have no idea where to even begin

To find yourself again
