The Loss of a Friend

The day going by slow,

The heart knowing the answer,

The mind not wanting to believe.

Having one more loss,

Right before the blinking eye.

The red puffy eyes,

Wanting the news to be fake.

Hoping the news is a lie.

Falling to your knees,

Hurting too much to walk.

Feeling the heart,

Full of grief and pain,

Not wanting it to be real.

Hoping it just a dream.

Staying home,

Not wanting to move.

The weight of the loss,

Settling on your chest.

The world against you,

Telling you to be ok.

The loss of a friend,

Causing pain,

throughout.

About the Creator

Natalie C..

I am a young writer who lets her creative flow through her writing. I tend to write on the darker side of topics because a lot of people don't. I have a darker imagination than most people.
