Long Way Down

Falling Down

falling down

even if you've flown

those don't mind it

when you're gone

to see you hit

the earth so hard

to them

it's best to leave alone

standing up

with battered wings

dusting off

the remaining debris

who knew this fall

would be a long way down

i notice it now

looking up from the ground

you've fallen before

this isn't the first

you tell yourself

no matter how it hurts

what matters now

is you getting up

even if you've suffered

a broken leg and such

those you thought that cared

never have son

put them behind you

your life with them is done

if they don't respect you

don't think that they will

some are too indulged

in their delusion still
