How can one describe a deeply rooted love
That has been buried for years?
For some it is reluctantly disposed of,
For others it rests, idle fears.
Then what does such love become,
When long uncertainty abruptly gives way?
It is hard to overcome,
And it consumes the mind and spirit; it stays.
This surge of emotion, more often than not
Cannot be expressed with words,
But after the burning of decades of thought,
He finds courage to be heard:
"Each passing hour I spend away from you
I find the world is lost, in darkest of views.
I find when we’re together pure joy rings true
Each mere second we meet, that feeling renews.
You are the warm kindness of every morning,
The gentle current of a river flowing,
The whimsical hum before thunder storming,
You are the constant human heartbeat growing.
I long each day to draw your eye’s connection
I long to submit to your smile’s subjection
I long to cause and hear your laugh’s projection
I long each day to feel you sigh’s convection
I cannot imagine my life without you,
Now you can see that this is long overdue."
She will always be the one
To fill the gaping void of his mind and heart,
And between each setting sun
He hopes and prays they will never be apart.
Yet because his sincere love for her has grown,
She's on his mind every day,
He would wait until all was gone, all alone
To be with her always.
How can one resuscitate,
When that love is unrooted
Without warning?
One
Can only
Commemorate,
A love discarded that once was growing.
