Long Distance Love

No Longer a Dream

Who would’ve thought that a one chance meeting

Ever so fleeting would send my heart beating

After it’s been sleeping, longing, gestating for my entire lifespan.

That you were the man I would call my heart, my soul, my future

Making me whole, making me wait

Miles away may as well be light years but it’s better than nonexistent

Better than not at all.

You reached out to me, bold and unafraid I can see your hand even if I can’t touch

But those days have gone and now I have touched, I’ve kissed, I’ve become one with

My long-distance love.

You are no longer a dream in my head

You became real holding me in my bed

I remember the night that you became real

Love became real, we became real

My god I must be dreaming but clearly, I’m not

And can’t wait for the day when the distance is gone.

Gone be the distance, gone be the longing

Long live our love no longer long distant.
