Living in My Skin
Scars to Scars and Marks to Marks

I'm tired of this body I wear over my soul.
My soul; sparkling and bright and brave, full of stories, full of tales,
Compassion, love and strength
Deserves more than this excuse of a canvas that,
Came as a gift that fell on the way,
Wrapping paper damaged, torn, crumbled and pitiful.
My skin, that wrapping paper, "acned", scaly, and spotted.
My spirit, that gift, somehow survived the fall and the bow kept it tied together
My body followed suit, soul intact, my lips
Smile and tie my thoughts down end to end
Hoping to spread warmth and strength.
