They say we are born free Yet we feel the need to flee Sometimes from life itself Because we live within chains

Our shackles may not be visible But they exist in different forms You can call it expectations Unfair promises taken by those Who swear to ‘love you unconditionally’

Yet the heart still remains unpredictable They say love is love Yet it’s not above culture Not above race Not above sex Not above faith

Because your loved ones’ Those that should love you Despite of how you are born The ones that bring you Into this heavy world

They are the same who Condition you, teach you That love is not love Unless it meets their rules

And thus we live in chains They tell you since young That love is not more than God, Skin, and Gender

Yet we’ve seen love But have never been able To prove the legitimacy of the rest

All the three social powers exist Within your mind But kindness and love exists Beyond our bodies Inside and outside Our minds

They say humanity is the keys It’s the only path we need But because no one listens There’s still only discord everywhere

“His-story” should have taught us But we still have miles yet left To learn, to realize, to accept That love is love

And it cannot be defined by chains That a better future for us all needs Acceptance Understanding Empathy Love
