Light in the Sky

All men are created equal.

Light in the Sky

Have you ever seen the world at night when the stars light up the sky

When all the lights from earth are off and the sun begins to die

Have you ever seen a child’s smile when he or she is born

Or when you walk into the movies and it smells like fresh popcorn

Have you ever sat beside someone and asked them how they’ve been

When you make them smile from the basic fact that you are genuine

Have you ever walked across a bridge that soared across a lake

When you lose your balance and grab the railing and the whole thing starts to shake

Have you ever been so in love it’s scared you half to death

Or when your lover grabs your hand and you are short of breath

Have you ever packed one bag and left the rest behind

Left because what you were looking for you simply could not find

Have you ever lay in bed and wanted to never get up

Or looked in the mirror and realized you don’t need to wear makeup

Have you ever booked a room just for you to stay

Maybe just a place where you could get away

Have you ever stopped and looked at the bright, glowing sun

And maybe have seen the same bright glow after you have won

Like it’s all a prize and only one of us can win

But it’s a scary game when others come and take with grinning sin

Our world is solid, massive, our world is strong and whole

But it’s breaking down and tearing now and losing all its soul

For our world needs to be loved and cared much like the people within

And the respect for one another on this earth has begun to grow thin

Have you ever seen a man on a summer day when the temperature is burning hot

And not see him again until he’s on the news because he just got shot

It doesn’t matter what color you are, this goes for all of us

Lets learn to love and respect one another before our world is dust

I mean have you ever seen the sky when the stars fill up the night

If we all just stand together that’s when we’ll find the light
