Light

My soul has been darkened for far too long.

Constantly trying to fill the void with earthly possessions that have no meaning or purpose.

Realizing that what I am clinging onto in this life won't be coming with me when I pass on.

This world is not my permanent home.

I belong somewhere that is not of this universe.

I've been hurt more times than I can count.

Some of the scars never truly healed.

A few of them still feel fresh and brand new.

Always trying to live up to everyone's unrealistic expectations that never allowed me to breathe.

Sought a solace in all the wrong places.

Within the darkness I saw a light that was shining brighter than ever before.

A light that I was constantly ignoring.

The light of freedom, peace,and hope which never left me.

My path has been redirected.

My path may not be perfect to those who are watching.

The most important one who is watching me knows every little detail about me.

For I am no longer pursuing the path of pleasing others.

Because I am pursuing the path He has laid out for me.
