We are part of a world
that I don't belong in.
Barely able to keep our
heads above the cocktail
of spiraling emotions I created.
We seek for evidence
that I have a place.
One where we can
make a change that
will better my future
and those who follow.
We try to envision
the path we are meant
to walk, but I find it hard
to look past my dark reflection
in my tainted mirage.
We hurt because we
have to.
I hurt because I
want to.
We fear of letting go
of the familiarity.
I feel it grounds me,
keeps me from disappearing.
We let fear cotrol
our minds from flourishing.
I have yet to know
what it is to be free.
Our troubles, our pain
My demons, my ways
We bow to our knees
asking for answers from above.
I push to know what
and why before they are meant to be.
Patience is our lesson
to let our path find us.
I will wait for the right
moment for my future to unfold.
Fight to find our way
of keeping ourselves active.
I work towards a new
way to help love and heal.
Learn when to wait.
Learn when to fight.
We belong even if it's
not in our sight.
