Life Shouldn’t Need a Sedative

A Poem of the Hard Truths of Life

To get you through the day.

There shouldn’t need to be a broken heart.

The cardiologist can’t find a cure anyway.

Situations and the world chokes you.

It’s no wonder you can’t breathe; anxiety makes you this way.

Eyes are dry from tears and constantly cast down.

No eye drops help; with each one sinking you deeper into the bay.

There is no cure for stupid.

Fish are forced to climb trees instead of swimming near the quay.

Each moment is wasted and full of pain.

No wonder so many decide not to stay.
