Life Comes Crashing Down
A Story of Life Through Poetry
A Story of life through poetry.
Reality
Struggling to stay above
Fills my lungs with despair
Quenches my love
And all I can do is stare
Crashing on the shore
Of all my broken dreams
Life has closed the door
My mind is splitting at the seams
Hope is breaking away
And all anyone can do is cry
No one has anything to say
When all you want to do is die
Everyone says you can do anything
But they choke when you want to do nothing
Her
Her hair was like starlight
On a cold winters eve
I could dance with her all night
Now all I can do is grieve
Her lips were cherry red
And her laugh was divine
I adored every word she said
She made me feel higher than cloud nine
Came as soon as she was gone
Like a fleeting memory
Couldn't write her a song
So I sit and write her eulogy
Now she dances in the sky
And the rains are her cry
Passing
Getting the news was bad
But the waiting was worse
Not knowing if I should be glad
Or if it's just another curse
I could see it in their eyes
How they run low on hope
But they keep whispering their lies
Just so they can cope
I know I'm running out
Time is not an option
So I forget all my doubt
I won't let myself get boxed in
So I leave behind my cares
To climb those golden stairs
