Life

-Poem-

It's scary, it's weird, it's strife.

This awful thing we call life.

The act isn't awful more the things you endure,

I think we know that and of that I am sure.

And to think we keep going like nothing is wrong,

And drown out the pain with a heart warming song.

We toss and we turn and we cry all night long,

But we need to realise our life isn't all that wrong.

We stress and we toil with ideas of self-pity,

All because we think that today's been quite shitty.

And maybe it has but today's almost over,

And maybe tomorrow we can all start over.

Start a fresh and turn over the page,

there's no point carrying stress on as well as our age.

So sit back and relax and take in these words,

Transporting you to a few different worlds.

To calm you and move you in many different ways,

Or maybe to make you sit back in a daze.

A daze of thought or mindless wander

Sit there and think, have a good old ponder.

Now this one's over and you've had the schpeel

Turn over the page, give it a peel.

And read about struggle and pain just like yours,

And find out about others, we're all just like doors.

Doors you can open, explore and be really nosy,

And you don't have to move while you're wrapped up and cosy.

I promise these poems won't leave you depressed,

They will give you the power to get up and get dressed.

And maybe you'll sit there and think ‘oh how awful’

But realise its normal and its all in one lungful.

The pain is short lived and will always get better,

From rock bottom there's nothing that makes our moods wetter.

Our spirits will lift and we will feel much lighter,

You are so strong, you're definitely a fighter.

And now you move on to hear about my real life story,

I leave you saying be proud, go earn your glory.
