Letting Go

This poem is about healing from childhood memories.

Letting go of bad feelings.

Allowing those who were suffocating underwater to breathe on the surface.

Allowing my feelings to float away into the sky like a red balloon released by a child.

My childhood memories that were dug out of the grave for the purpose of creative writing.

For the purpose of sharing with others little-known facts about me.

This balloon now flies with the birds.

It cruises above the city and is lost in the blue sky above.

It remembers the memoir written through poetry.

It also remembers how much I have grown since the days of my past.

Each day is a new day to find yourself again.

Letting go of bad feelings.

Allowing myself who was drowning to breathe with human lungs again.
