Letting Go

Cutting the Flowers

This is me

Letting you

Go.

I would rather miss you

For the rest of my life

Than to hate you

For not being what I thought

You were.

This is me cutting all ties.

This is me destroying

Every particle

Of love we once had.

This is me cutting the

Flowers that you planted

On my back.

This is it,

for our sake.

The hardest lesson I ever learned

Was that when you truly

Love someone you

Have to know when it's time

To let go.

I'm sorry my words hurt like knives

To your back and I'm sorry

I Sound so cold,

My hands have been tied for longer

Than we knew and I had to let go.

This is me changing our path

Because we thought we knew it all

I don't want to know that I will

Lose myself within you

I would rather not know.

I hope you learn to forgive and forget

To let go and to learn.

Little do you know,

I have been counting the stars

That will lead me to you

In a better life,

So we can do this right

So the flowers don't have as many thorns

And the words have a better meaning.

I hope you sleep well tonight

I hope you feel less heavy tides in your heart

Please don't give up on yourself,

You have always been more than

You tell yourself you are.
