Letters to the Moon

What's a sun to do?

You are so easy goddamn to love

And I love you

When you’re hard to love, I love you more...

But my eloquence left out that door

My words are flying, I am crying:

"I love you forevermore!”

I swear I’d give up my left knee just to have you next door

Even in the arms of another, whom I would silently abhor

But...

If there’s happiness there; I cannot show care.

Even though,

"I’m happy for you,” sounds so fake

When you can still hear the heartache.

Somehow you can still smile like the sun

Even when I thought you were the moon.

Maybe you can be the two.

It’s not impossible, I’ve always believed in you;

You’ve never had a problem lighting up a room.

But nonetheless and I digress;

It’s you that I adore mon amour.

Even if time goes by and I’m back to going wild

Simply loony as a toon

All alone & on my own, without a whisper of you...

And you’re better off, so I'm happy this way

But I’m better off with you...

Evermore, you will always be my moon

Long past the day that all my shine

Has lost its spark to you.
