Legends Never Die

My Father – My Hero

The Absence of a Legend

It's been 8 years since I last saw your face,

I remember it like yesterday.

Holding your hand telling you things will be ok,

And you looking at me like you knew you were going away.

Had I known it would be our last night,

I would have never said goodbye.

Since you've been gone things haven't been the same,

There is a silence in your space.

All I have left are pictures and memories of the past,

But every day I wish for you to come back.

I know you'll never walk through that door again,

No, your journey had to come to an end.

Are you happy and free where you are?

Do you still keep us in your heart?

Why did you leave my dreams?

It was the only place I had you there with me.

I am trying to understand this thing called life,

But I just don't get how you disappear when you die.

It's like you never existed like you were never there,

But I know you were and I know how much you cared.

I guess you live in me and I will move on,

And one day we will reunite in the heavens above.

I thank you for bringing me into this world,

and I am so proud of you for the man you were.

You never gave up, you fought till the end,

That's how you'll be remembered, a true legend.

About the Creator

Paranormal World Girl

I've experienced too much in my life and had seen the world in many different ways. Life is strange and we have to make the best of it.
