Leaving with Death

Poetry

Have you seen death before?

right in front of your eyes?

Not in physical form

but seeing a person's soul

leave this world with death

both holding hands

When their limbs go cold

and their last breath real soul

that's deaths rattle

Then they are gone...

It's sad but beautiful to witness

their pain and suffering all gone

We were once afraid when we were

all young of something we did not understand

Mine was witnessing death for so long

until my grandmother taught me

it was a gift to finally

let go
