Lay With Nature
Late in the fall upon entering the forest
I lay to rest beneath a redwood
Majestic stature serene solitude in natures temple
Uplifted celestial heights angels balance upon their canopy
Through the branches and all its living glory
high above my crown skies fade to deeper blues
Crystal cirrus clouds stretched short of reaching heaven
Sunlight luminescent through endless redwood needles
reaching the visual of my eyes enlightenment sparked my soul
Under the redwoods I am minuscule
a world bigger than man
As I realized this in my heart
Nature awoke unbashful accepting me as I lay
Observing in admiration her mighty gentle hands
laid redwood seedlings across the land
She holds me tenderly close enough to hear her heartbeat
Tears from my core flow through all my pores
salt of the earth I water the soil beneath us
If I could lay here for eternity
live and grow with the mighty redwoods
I would
