Lay of the Summer Queen

A Personal Poem

The grain sways in an ancient breeze,

replete with sound of laughter,

Fae dancing in a circle through the fields,

Though silent that breeze is now.

Home is away in the land where you dwell,

in a cool, golden, tranquil dell,

surrounded by lilies, bedecked in the finery of Sylvanus.

Your radiant joy, your brilliant fire, draws me there once more.

Though it has been long, you shall know me,

Though the way was hard, I have returned,

Though my heart was weak, yours was strong,

Though evil delayed my coming, I am here.

I am one with thee again, my Titania,

Your court is complete once more,

You no longer need worry,

Nor evermore grieve upon the Western Shore.

Eternal shall our joy be,

For long have we been parted,

Across the Shadows and the Sea,

But at last, at last, Your Oberon has returned home to thee...

Michael Barnes

just a person with a lot of stories i've never had an outlet for, all these people living in my head, now i get to see if anyone else likes them as much as i do.
