Last Poem

this is the last poem i will write about you.

i must stop wasting ink and paper

and innocent thoughts meant for someone else.

maybe the next one will finally be about them

not the fictional pain you cause my wrist when i’m writing.

but possibly

i’d rather be damaged by you once again

and again

so my gift has quality.

because all i have to offer the world is words

and without your hand on top of my right

forging love letters that you will never read yourself

i’m mute.

you should continue to come and go

so i stay relevant.
