Knocked Astray

Why must paths change direction?

Throughout life’s journey,

I thought I had been lost before.

Lonely, abandoned,

Losing all hope for serenity.

Those times were different.

Now I’ve learned how it truly feels,

Lonesome, just empty.

.

There’s been friends that I believed would

Really stick around.

So many fake people trying

To seem genuine.

Taking advantage of the care

Just to disappear

When they get bored. No longer

Seeing their own perks

Out of the damn relationship.

Those people are gone

In my life at least. It does hurt,

But nothing like this.

.

My father was a wondrous man.

Through media and

Ministry, he learned just about

Everything. Always

Sharing his knowledge with us all,

No hesitation

To spark admiration, standing

For integrity,

I’ve never known one so sincere.

.

I lost him Monday

January 5th, the new year

2015.

Nothing has felt right since you passed

Pops, and that’s why I’m lost.
