Kneel & Stand

(New Anthem)

I knelt at the cross,

Now I stand, sins forgiven

No more do I darken the ground

I must rise as Christ has bidden.

Do justice, seek redemption

Tread the darkness bringing light

Be ministers, be reconciled

To all within your sight.

No flag has my devotion,

No anthem has my heart,

I will not stand when some are viewed

As less than what they are.

My heart is not for country

My heart is for countrymen

Who kneel against injustice

Who call out our country's sins.

I will not stand while others fall

At the hands of broken justice

When we sing a new song that finally rings true

I'll stand when the anthem isn't for "just us."
