Keep Walking

There's light at the end of the abyss.

You must be tired by now, it's been a long journey and the bright white headlights of fear still linger on your mind.

I know Ammon's Horn and Dentate's Gyrus still hold you captive with only your suppressed redness to keep you warm on the deepest blue nights.

I know the captivating green eyes of jealousy still grip you so tightly it feels like your choking.

The hunter green of resentment still stalks your every thought.

The dulled black soul of the lost youth you mourn haunts your every move.

Eternally youthful her stilled heart is the scarlet red of the shame you forever carry.

You used to see the world through rose coloured glasses until the darkness invaded.

Colour is nowhere to be found only black in its absence.

The world is not, simply, shades of black white, not when despair robs you of light.

Once warm and lively your skin has been beaten black and blue by the storm you've fought through.

Your fingers, purple and numb like hers, grip tightly to the only warmth you still hold kept alive with your firey red anger.

Your feet walk the yellow brick road of exhaustion with a heaviness they gained through cowardice.

The enduring brown of the fallen autumn leaves surround your every step.

Your vision blurred by the glassy film of your tears, the hollow abyss of your aimless wandering seems more and more futile and you've found yourself lost.

But know when there's recompense there's salvation and she'll be on the other side of the bright white light...

Keep walking.

I love every bit of this and I love the way you used colors as different metaphors.
