-Just Watch Me DANCE-
[So the journey begins.]
Have you ever watched someone fall asleep
And you looked in the passenger seat
And suddenly they were at peace?
Have you ever listened to someone breathe
As they drink in your hair, profile, the city?
Have you ever heard the praise of a crazed
Lover?
Have you ever watched someone grow
Into the person they're meant to be?
Have you ever set a child's toys
Have you ever seen a waterfall
That begged to be captured in a lens?
Have you ever seen the sadness in someone's eyes
So deep that no one has noticed?
Have you ever held someone's hand
And cried because they fit so perfectly?
Have you ever screamed in your car
As you mourned the loss of another century?
I have.
I have seen, and there is a difference
Between seeing your life run by
And catching it in your hands.
A difference between letting it slip past you
And letting it flow through you.
A difference between standing on the sidelines reaching in
And running to the field with arms outstretched.
I saw a book along the side of the road
And I stopped a moment to read it.
There is a difference between watching your life
And living it.
