Just Some Words

A Poem

Can't seem to shake the past

It comes up to bite me in the ass

Leaves me gasping for air as it laughs

At my struggles and I crash

Right back to the same end

Crying through the movement of my pen

This paper is yet again

My only friend

Welcoming me with an open mind

So I ask how many fucking times

Can I lie and tell everyone I'm fine

Through these pretend optimistic rhymes

It's all bullshit I know

That no matter how far I actually go

I'll never escape the sorrow

Nor the ice cold sheet of snow

Layered where once I had a heart

But I think you knew that from the start

Without your love I'd fall apart

You truly left your mark....
