Accept the Differences

I am hurt

Why must we hate

Treating others like they are nothing but a waste of space

Ridiculing because of differences

Why does it matter

The color of skin or the length of hair

Whether someone drinks or even smokes

Why does it matter

Whether someone is a man or a woman

Transitioning or not

Whether you show your skin or decorate it from head to toe

Leaving someone to bleed on the side of the road

Broken and deranged

Why must it matter

To label someone

To make them fit in a category

To push them aside

Just because they don't fit you

To belittle and to harm

Words are just as strong as any battle wound

Cyber bullying or putting to shame

Not good enough because of your name

Why must it matter

I am sickened by all the hate

By all of the cruel words

To be called a slut

You don't know who I am or what it is I go through

Just like I don't know what it is you go through

Why must we judge

We aren't perfect

Only human

Who gives you the power to assume

There is beauty in all around

I embrace the differences

Accepting them for what they are

No different
