Just in Case You Need to Hear This

You just need one time.

When you have a goal, 99 times out of 100, you will fail.

Around the 20th time, you’re already experiencing fatigue and will want to quit.

Around the 40th time, you may get closer than you’ve ever been before it falls through. And you lie to yourself that there’s still a chance when there really isn’t.

Around the 50th time, you may accept that it will never happen.

Around the 60th time, the goal itself may even tell you that it’s not meant to happen and you’re wasting your time.

Around the 70th time, you will grow bitter. You will resent your own dreams. You will resent yourself. You will resent the world.

Around the 80th time, you will be on autopilot. Only doing it because you’re used to it. Your passion will have wilted. You have been so disheartened; you question whether you want it anymore. But it has become your identity for so long, you are synonymous with it and trick yourself into thinking you still want it even if it brings pain.

Around the 90th time, you may have moved on. Only pursuing out of habit. You can still remember when you had the passion for it. Maybe something new will re-ignite your passion for it.

The 100th time, you’ve gone through every variable. You’ve gone through every avenue. You’ve gone through every combination, every permutation. But you’ll hit a sweet spot. You’ll find the only opportunity that hasn’t heard from you and doesn’t think like the other 99.

It's not hard doing self-deprecating humor. I just suck at it.
