Jump Off Rock—Laurel, NC. By Treva Carter

I rub his hair and it awakens my senses.

Tangled mane of locks twisted around strong vine of almond eyes and watermelon lips. The thoughts that spin through my mind are like a flock of birds, streaming from fantasy to fantasy.

He stirs,

Roarrrrsss like the King he is,

and wraps his arms around me, his Queen.

I am lost in a rain forest stream of energy and excitement. I slither my fingers over his chest and dance around the campfire of his heart.

Wishing we could sleep underneath the stars of God's choice, surrounded by monkey habits and elephant dreams.

His body stretched so long,

Giraffes get jealous!

What is this safari he's taken me on?

Where are we going?

To caves hidden deep in mystery?

or to mountain tops carved from joyous rain storms?

I had never been on a jungle safari before

but

boy

I can't wait to go again!
