A Poem

Tonight, a star sprouts wings

Small, and saturated in embers are these wings

But as the star progresses through these challenges

The wings will grow, and the fire will be pyromaniacal

Tonight, he sets off fading into a new existence

When he returns he will not be the same

After the trials he will be so strong, his light will blind me

Tonight I reminisce on who he has become

The evolution from someone so afraid to outwardly express

To someone who rises to it with relentless vigor

Tonight, he starts anew

Tonight he leaves to protect everything we know and love

He is more of a man, than I could even begin to imagine I’ll be

In time, he will fly

And he inspires my wings to burst into something vibrant
