Joy

Oh, how joyful I get when I see your face.

I see you

And you light up the whole room.

My whole face.

My whole world.

You light up everything.

You standing there makes me weak,

Like you’re unrealistic.

How someone like you and I

Could be such great friends

Since when we were young.

I never thought this would happen.

But I’m glad it did.

Dancing with you,

Smiling with you,

Having you as a friend, even,

Is such a pleasure.

You may be a joker,

But you will always make me laugh a whole lot.

With that one dance,

We had a connection.

Laughing and smiling,

Having a good time with you,

It feels so surreal.

Then we looked into each other’s eyes,

We clicked.

The thump of my heart as you form a smile,

Melts my sorrows away.

How you can make all the pain away,

So unimaginable.

Then you take my hands and intertwine it with yours,

How lovely ours hands connected.

Your warm hands beneath mine,

So smooth and protectful.

You took me into your arms,

And tightly took me into a hug.

How funny my small body is compared to yours.

We stay like that for minutes,

Oh how I wish it was hours or days,

But as long as we know we have and love each other,

We will never be long gone.

This is the story of us.
